For some time I have had aggressive marketing my Geocities website without the prospect of any financial consideration. The site is content-based so I did not expect to produce any product sales and I was not able to lure potential sponsors.
But that has changed implicitly. Google has decided to reward webmasters with quality free websites the opportunity to rake in some cash for their hard work.
Contextual advertising Google Adsense program has been around since June 2003. Back then the program was open only to webmasters with their own domain names and many quickly took the opportunity to cash in their places of work of love.
When the Big G announced that it will develop Adsense to host free sites, some people scoffed at the idea because they believe that freebie sites are full of rubbish.
I first learnt about the move, while browsing around a few webmaster forums and to my surprise some persons were on the move by Google. I believe that Google's intention to bring in as many quality websites under the umbrella Adsense.
My first request was rejected for Adsense and got an explanation stating that my site was still under construction. I thought that was a mistake about it resumed the same day and I accepted. Right away I was able to connect to my account and begin implementation of the Code for ads on my pages.
The control panel is easy to understand and Google provides statistics and figures to be able to watch your performance. You can also add Adsense for search where visitors can find your web site or get compensated each time someone clicks on the ads displayed.
Developing sites content is the key to success Adsense. Why? Because Google's technology uses the content of each page to guess which ads are most appropriate. The higher the quality of content, higher quality and pay your ads will attract.
Please note that accepted throughout the Adsense does not guarantee that you will receive a selection of them. The success you depends on many factors.
Some of these include the number of visitors, the placement of advertisements, the value of keywords in the page where the ads and how many persons will clickthru on Adsense advertising panel.
For those with unscrupulous minds, Google has ways and means to find out where each is derived from advertising click. Hence, no influx of clicks.
Adsense is a win-win situation for all involved. It benefits the visitors with additional information, search engines because of higher quality and your web pages with a check each month.
